Launch of the Plastic Ocean Festival on Earth Day - 22nd April 2017
About thirty new and experienced stand up paddleboarders joined the Plastic Ocean Festival team on London's canals to SUP 'Paddle & Pick' from Paddington Basin to Little Venice after watching the powerful documentary, A Plastic Ocean at Paddington Central. A truly beautiful day with good conditions and sunshine on the water to kick off the first of several events of the festival.
21st May 2017
More fun on the water continued in May at the second event with a screening of the adventure documentary, North of the Sun (Nordfor Sola). We came across some very interesting findings picked out of the canal this time!
2nd July 2017
Our fourth event took place in partnership with Westbourne Summer Festival with a screening of the multi-award winning documentary North of the Sun (Nordfor Sola) in the Electric Barge.
18th July 2017
This was an all-day event in partnership with Merchant Square, with documentary screenings (North of the Sun - Nordfor Sola, A Plastic Whale and A Plastic Ocean) and SUP 'Paddle & Pick' sessions throughout the day. We also had Thames21, Thames Estuary Partnership, Sea Life London Aquarium, Tideway, Hannah4Change and TerraCycle UK attending and making the event more informative.

During our first event on the Thames we held a SUP 'Paddle & Pick' session in the morning followed by the screening of 'A Plastic Ocean' in the afternoon.
